North Warren Central School District is officially announcing the dates for the upcoming Winter Break! School will be dismissed starting Monday, December 22, 2025, through Friday, January 2, 2026. We look forward to welcoming all students and staff back to school when classes resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Our wonderful Kindergarten students are preparing to take us on a magical journey! Join us for their special "Polar Express" Show on Tuesday, December 16th @ 1:00 pm. This beloved performance is a festive tradition, featuring songs and readings based on the classic holiday story, and is sure to delight family and friends. Come experience the wonder of the season!

At their regular meeting, the Board of Education reviewed updates made to the 2025-26 District Wide Safety Plan. The changes are related to automated external defibrillator (AED) equipment and school safety training as part of Cardiac Emergency Response Plans. They follow Desha’s Law which was signed by Governor Hochul on July 25, 2025. Initial changes required by this law were adopted within building-level emergency plans prior to the beginning of the school year.

This update opens a 30-day public comment period before going back to the board for approval in January.

Congratulations are in order for the latest group of students who have earned the prestigious Cougar Cart Award! This special recognition highlights students who consistently demonstrate exceptional behavior, effort, and positive attitude within the school community. The awards were delivered with celebration and fanfare, recognizing these students for being true examples of Cougar excellence!

The Elementary Principal, Mrs. Laura, recently hosted a special Cougar Character Lunch to honor a group of deserving students. This unique event celebrates students who consistently demonstrate outstanding character traits like kindness, respect, responsibility, and helpfulness, reinforcing the positive behaviors that make North Warren a great place to learn.

In a special event dedicated to honoring those who have served, the North Warren Student Council hosted a successful Coffee and Donut reception for local veterans. Students had the meaningful opportunity to meet, thank, and share conversations with community veterans, fostering a deeper understanding of service and sacrifice.

Get ready for a wonderful evening of festive music! Our talented students in Grades 1 through 3 will be performing their annual Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 11th, at 6:30 PM. This charming performance will showcase the students’ hard work in music class and is sure to fill the auditorium with holiday cheer.

The Reading Buddies program is a cherished and highly beneficial initiative at our school, pairing older students (typically 4th-6th grade) with younger students (often Kindergarten or 1st grade) to read together. This program not only provides essential one-on-one reading practice for the younger children but also fosters leadership, mentoring, and community among students of different ages.

North Warren's Kindergarten classes transported back into time to celebrate Thanksgiving by learning how to make traditional colonial staples: fresh soup and homemade butter! Students participated in hands-on lessons that demonstrated the effort and simple ingredients used by early settlers, culminating in a delicious and educational Thanksgiving Feast highlighting their hard work.

Our community truly came together to make this year's Student Council Food Drive an incredible success! We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the generosity of students, families, and staff, we collected an astonishing total of 4,235 non-perishable food items and provided 577 turkeys to ensure local families have a complete holiday meal. A massive thank you to everyone who donated!
